The team at Leading Edge are proud to reveal our latest competition fixture that will take place in 2023. The LERLA tournament will be a FootyTag tournament. This event is spread across multiple days and will feature special contest rounds to gain the upper hand!
Champions of the Leading Edge tournament will take home the title and 1st prize FootyTag Kit & Westfield voucher, thanks to our major sponsors Evo Sports Co.
What is FootyTag:
FootyTag is a sport with similar rules to Rugby League but is safer and is non contact, similar games are played around the world called Tag Rugby and Oztag. Each player wears 2 Tags either attached to a Velcro Belt or Shorts and the team in defence must Tag the attacking team with the Ball instead of Tackling.
HOW THIS WILL WORK:
You need to enrol into a team provided by LERLA, or, enter in your very own team to compete. **Please note - You do not need to enter in your own team! You can join any team that has a position available.
Numbers: Teams must have 6 players to compete (you can join a team or enter in your own team).
Teams: A maximum of 6 teams can enter the competition per age group.
Duration: The event is spread out over X2 days of the School Holidays. Each day runs for 4hrs each
Cost: $99 for the event (per player)
BBQ Lunch: Day two of the event, LERLA will provide a BBQ lunch for all players
Ages: | U/6-U/8’s | U/8-U/10’s |
Prizes: Team prizes will be provided to the top 3 winning teams in each age group.
Lunch & Snacks: Players are required to bring their own snacks, water and lunch for Day 1. Day 2, LERLA will be providing a BBQ lunch.
Contest Rounds
Spread out over the entire two day event will be contest rounds for both team and individual based competitions. Gain the upper hand and advantage throughout these super rounds as they could be the difference between winning or losing the tournament!
Top 4 Finals
At the end of Day-2, the Top four will enter the final series to battle it out for the title and team prizes.
